milestones : 9 -11 months

Finally, my darling's 4th teeth (upper right central incisor) break out on 03/08/10. Then her appetite seems to get better. Having 1/3 slice of bread plus 5oz of formula milk for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, she can finished 2/3 bowl of porridge or 1/3 bowl of cereal with 1/3 slice of bread plus 5oz of formula milk. Besides, will also have 5 oz of formula milk during dawn around 5.30am, before her afternoon nap around 3.00pm and around 8.30pm before sleep.

To food, my little girl knows what she wants and is very persistence, unable to force. Would rather starve if she dislikes what i give. Never wants the same food for 2 days and this of course make me headache, need to think what to prepare for her meal everyday. In nice word, she's very ''characteristic", but another way, she's choosy.

As i still headache what should i prepare for her, again, she refused to eat, even her favorite-bread. From having so much for a meal, reduced to only having her formula milk. And she starts getting cranky easily. I was like OMG!! teething again. Well, i reckon it's a stage every baby needs to get through...Okay, at least she's having her formula milk with cereal added.

Sometimes to get her settled for feeding or to finished her feeding, i'll have to switch on her favorite songs or MV or TV ads. Then she'll lie on me with her body or leg shaking while having her formula milk.

She's sensitive to music. If she heard song or music she likes, she'll dance ie. shake her body, no matter where or what she's doing. That's really funny.

Early of the month we have stop putting her in the walker. Because we found her trying to climb out of it. Not yet successful, but it's sort of dangerous. Beside trying to climb out of the walker, she has also climbing up to her papa's armchair, sitting and playing on it.

Without the walker, she is everywhere in the house, crawling and cruising. Her favorite activities become pushing furniture around, get under the table......etc etc...

My "teletubby"

Since my darling knows how to get down from the mattress, every morning if she's awake after her papa, she'll crawl to the door and waited her papa come in for changed and then carry her out to living room. No longer bothering me because she knows i wont attend her. Glad...i could get more sleep until her papa about going to work...;p

Understand more and more words. Have lots of facial expression and is imitating some of our acts.

Expression for “臭臭”or “猪嘴”. Or when she 'poop'.

Expression for "finished" or “没有”or “不见咯”.

Imitating what i'm doing....

Am not sure since when, she knows changing outfit means going 'kai kai'. So whenever her papa change his outfit, she'll crawl to him and want him to hold her. If he didn't do so, she'll cry and will hold his legs tight, wont let him go until he hold her up. She'll refuse if i offer to hold her. To her, papa changing outfit = going 'kai kai'. Gladly this only happen during evening. During morning, she has no problem to wave goodbye to her papa. There are a few times, her papa going out at night without bringing her along, she refused to wave goodbye and giving a sour face. Then she'll refused to settle for sleep or if she falls asleep, she'll awake about midnight and cry, wanted to go out. Until her papa hold her and comfort her for sleep. Therefore, whenever her papa wants to go out alone, i'll have to take her to the room avoid to let her seeing her papa going out. Glad that this method works, else we really dont know how to solve the problem.

Getting into 10 months, her 5th teeth (upper right lateral incisor) is out on 1/09/10 and awaiting for the 6th which usually come in pair.

Her appetite become worse. Sometime would even skip the meal (formula milk, refuse to have any other foods). I'm so worry she don't have enough for her energy and she looks tired and sleepy sometime, but she's not sick. No fever, just refuse to open her mouth and cry more. Her gum must be really uncomfortable and painful.

I keep trying to give her different foods, but she just refused. Then i found that she likes cheddar cheese and Heinz fruity jar food. She would said 'nen nen' if she wants to eat the cheese and would wave happily when i give her. Glad, at least there is something else for her. I discovered she prefer salty or sour over sweet, unlike other baby. She dislike the cream cheese specially made for baby and she would actually finished her formula milk if it's lighter. Besides, like her papa, she likes soup, all kind of soup, be it lotus root, ABC, corn, winter melon, seaweed etc etc....She could drink a lot. At least she could get some nutrition from the soup.

Unable to keep her away from kitchen, toilet or balcony if i'm there, because she's strong enough to open the sliding door. @faint@

Using her finger to pick things up to eat. But sometimes she's too lazy and might as well move her mouth directly to eat. I'll have to make sure the floor is clean always because she'll pick up just any tiny thing and put in her mouth. Refusing food but picking up rubbish??? @faint@

There are a few times, we found her standing by her own without support, usually is when she's playing and both her hands holding something. But very fast when she realised, she'll squat or sit down. Many has said since she has learned to pull up to stand very early, she'll be learning to walk early as well. But in fact, till now she hasn't learned to walk by her own. She prefer cruising or would rather crawl if there is nothing to support her. When we trying to teach her stand or walk by her own, she just refused. Actually she is cruising a lot and could stand quite steady without support, but she just dont want to. Perhaps, for safety (afraid to fall because falling too much, i think ;p). Anyway, people always said a child learned to walk late (after 1 year old) will have better life. Well, whatever it is, we'll see.

2 days before mooncake festival, my girl had a fever. As i thought it must be caused by the upper left lateral incisor, but it did not break through the gum. Then one day (23/09/10), when i was playing with her, i suddenly see both her lower lateral incisor. So, the fever is because of that. 2 days later (25/09/10), the upper left lateral incisor finally break out. So, my darling has total of 8 teeth before she turns 11 months old.

Finally after the teeth breaking out, my girl start gaining her appetite, but eating what she prefer only. Finishing 6 oz of formula, 6 times a day plus some solids. Continue loving cheese, soup and is eating bread, biscuits.

Back to Penang when my darling is 11m+1w old. Glad that she adapts to the environment fast and is friendly everyone especially to her grandparent and all the family members. Basically, she is friendly to everyone, no matter what races.


My lazy girl finally willing to hold the bottle, not the whole meal though. And most of the time, she still prefer being feed by me. Usually, she'll move my hand to hold the bottle for her.

Potential to be a talkative girl. When we are chatting, she'll also mumble like she's also chatting with us. Of course, no one understand her. Especially she likes many people sitting together and chat. When she's happy or having good mood, she'll sing "la la la la.....". But i dont know which song she's singing. ;)

Start learning to speak. Word speaking most are 'gor gor' (哥哥) and 'jie jie' (姐姐). Follow by 'po po' (婆婆), then sometimes 'papa' (爸爸). Hardly heard 'ma ma' (妈妈). *Sad.....* And her 'gong gong' (公公) sounds like 'gor gor'. She always mumble her own after waking up, or in the car or when she's boring doing nothing: 'gor gor' 'gor gor' 'jie jie' 'jie jie'........Would said 'gou' (狗) when she heard the dog bark.....

Use her index finger to point thing or people when we ask. Also point to the direction where she wants to go and the thing she wants.

She seems growing a lot, from a know nothing baby become now able to understand quite a lot when we talk to her.

Start drooling again when she almost turn 1 year old. Checking her gum, seems like more teeth is coming. Then she start refusing her formula milk as well as other food. Will only eat whatever she prefer. Getting skinnier. Hopefully, she'll get better soon.
