Feb 2010

Feb is the month of CNY. It's my darling's 1st CNY. Since early Feb, i have been busy packing my BB's stuffs because we are bringing our darling back to Penang for reunion. Really not easy to bring a 3 months old for long journey especially we are new parent. I keep checking things and scared i would have missed out something important. I worried about her reaction towards unfamiliar environment and also the long ride in the car.
Well, it seems i'm over worried. She slept most of the time in the car, doesn't get cranky at all. The only problem is unable to finish feeding, perhaps not comfortable to be fed in the bumpy ride.
my BB sleeping soundly in the car.

Thanks god, my darling has no problem adapting new environment and she's friendly to everyone. In fact, too playful until refused to take her naps and finished her feedings. Anyway, she's a nice and easy-going BB throughout the trip.

@ 4th month...

My darling is 4 months old on 27th Feb 2010 (according to lunar calender). According to Hokkien's tradition, there's celebration when baby turns 4 months old. But since my darling is "half" Hokkien (i'm Hokkien but my hubby is not), so there's no praying session and we only have some traditional ritual :-
My darling wearing "blue" so that in future she'll be smart in her study..

Great grandma (my grandma) is wearing the biscuits around Caryl, to stop her drooling....
then the biscuits is sharing among everyone at home to show our love.

***I'm not sue whether the tradition works, but no harm doing it since it has been passed from generations. Anyhow, all i want is, my darling growing up healthily and happily.

Now that my darling is 4 months old, from the day onwards, she can be "sockless", wear sleeveless and go out of the roof without headgear. Also, she can starts wearing accessories such as bangle, anklet etc.

Caryl @ 4 months
~before CNY, finished 5.5oz every 3 hours and took a few naps routinely.
~has her 1st long journey trip to Penang to meet her grandparent, auntie & uncle, cousins for the 1st time.
~after CNY, everyday routine is messed up, most of the time can't finished the feeding, get fussy and refused to be fed, instead drink a lot of water, takes 4-5 naps but only 1/2 hrs each, easily being awake.
~after CNY, sleeps as early as 8pm and wake up early at 7+am.
~when lying down will raise her head forward as if she wants to sit up by her own, will also do that when we want to hold her up.
~roll over successfully on week 17.
~wants to stand up while being hold, like kicking, have strong leg muscles.
~pay attention and has eye contact when someone call her or talk to her, as if she understand.
~when she's happy, she'll kick her legs, wave her hands and laugh aloud.
~grasp thing/toy she wants and like to put them into her mouth.
~big movement while asleep at night ie rotate 90 degree, sometimes almost 180 degree....
~when she's tired of lying, she'll make noise to catch our attention as if she's calling us to hold her.
~like to observe people doing things ie vacuuming, drying/combing hair etc....
~seem curious when we eat/ drink, always eyeing our bowl/ cup when we eat, and sometimes have chewing motions as if she's eager to eat.

Brought my darling to Pediatric for 2nd dos of Rotavirus and Pneumococcus vaccination on 24th Feb. Check with Dr on her milk consumption and water intake. Dr said it's normal while some baby may have so called "milk refusal period". As long as she's still drinking 2-3 oz within 2-3 hrs, that'll be fine. To increase consumption, Dr advised, i may change the feeding way ie feed with spoon or the formula brand. For water intake, have to aware that cant drink too much because it may caused "water poisoning". Dr said my darling seem "mature" (LOL...) because she's observing what's people around her doing and is listening as if she understand when i talk to her while the Dr going to inject her. Also consulted the Dr about introducing my girl solid foods. Dr adviced to wait until she's fully six months or if she really cant wait, may starts about 5+months. This is because research found the possibilities of baby who starts earlier having sensitive stomach is higher. Well, i wonder my darling can wait another 2 months, she seems eager to try when she saw us eating.
After seeing the Pediatric, brought my darling to poli for monthly routine check. No vaccination at the age of 4 months. Her weight is 6.4kg. Her weight increased has slow down but according to scale.
