Project...done!

Yeah....Finally finished editing songs info for hubby's iTunes! I have spent days to edit and reorganise nearly 3000 songs info, especially chinese songs, typing those character one by one. So glad and happy to see the characters appear nicely on the iPod and its easier now to search the song in it. Hmmm....my next project will be importing more songs and probably adding lyrics into it! Cheers...

HongKong day again!

Yesterday was my monthly Hongkong day again. The night before ie Friday, i am still worrying about the weather because the typhoon seems to be serious than the past. Thank god that it's only here for a night. We are out at a nice weather though still windy.

It was a crowded day, much more crowded than usual. Schools and collages summer holiday perhaps or maybe people been staying home whole day due to typhoon the day before and finally could be out for fresh air.

Me and hubby went for a movie-The Mummy:Tomb of The Dragon Emperor. Thanks to hubby's colleague who gave us the pair of free movie ticket otherwise we really don't know what else to do at HongKong. The movie is only average but helps us to spend our time there.

Typhoon "Parrot" is here!

"Parrot" the typhoon is coming. Hubby's company having a half day off today due to it. This is the 1st time ever, he is back at home due to the typhoon. The local TV weather report has introduced that this is the strongest typhoon up to this year because it directly hits Guangdong Province. There is a level 9 typhoon alert and local authority has evacuated people living by the sea seriously.

Actually i have been very accustomed to typhoon since SZ is located at the storm-zone. There been lots of typhoon since the past few months. But today, when the wind slamming the windows and doors, it still frighten me. Really worry that the glasses will be broken by the wind. It seems to be stronger than the past.

Report says it's going to be around for at least 2 days. I don't really mind if i am at home but my problem is i have to go Hongkong to "chop" my passport....Sigh! Out at a typhoon day...?

Hope it could get away as fast by tonight....

Soft toys of the Mascots

Me and hubby went to a shopping center for groceries near our neighbourhood yesterday. We stopped by at a division selling Olmypic Beijing's official products. I intend to buy the T-shirt with 5 mascots, but it is too expensive. We then being attracted by those soft toys and end up getting 1 set home, although it's not cheap at all. Hopefully, the value will increase in the future and till then, we could pass them to our children as "heirloom"....hahahha.....I know i am dreaming!!! ;p

It's cute isn't it??

My lunch

My lunch-Italian salad with Korean Style Rice Ball. Weird combination....hahahaha....
Feeling bored and not sure what to eat as lunch. Then i remember reading a food blog before regarding Korean sushi. What's the different between Japanese sushi and Korean sushi? Well, now i know, Japanese add in vinegar whereas Korean uses sesame oil.

Since i don't have Japanese sushi's vinegar so i decided to try with the sesame oil-a must have ingredient in our kitchen. ;D

Hubby's "Crocs" My "Sport"

Hubby's "Crocs" with cute jibbitz on it. He is challenging my bet that he dare not wear it with those jibbitz. Since he said he dare to, i put those jibbitz on and awaiting him to wear it to street. :D

My "Sport" which looks similar to "Crocs". Bought it with a cheap price at a roadside stall. For the purpose of going to wet market actually. Because my sandal and feet always get wet and stink when going there.

Chinese Style Fried Pasta

Ingredients:-
~Pasta
~Egg (beaten with soy sauce/salt)
~Chinese Mushroom (soaked in water and cut into small pieces)
~Round Cabbage (cut into small pieces)
~Carrot (cut into small pieces)
~Sausage (cut into small pieces)
~Red Shallot, Garlic,Scallion (Chopped)
~Cooking Oil, Sesame Oil, Water
~Salt, Oyster Sauce, Soy Sauce to taste

Steps:-
~Cook the pasta in salted boiling water for 10-12 mins. Rinse with cold water and strain with colander.
~Add some sesame oil to pasta, stir and put aside.
~Fry the egg, cut into small pieces and put aside.
~Heat the pan with cooking oil, fry the red shallot and garlic until fragrant.
~Add in the chinese mushroom, round cabbage, carrot, sausage and some water, stir fry until half cook.
~Add in cooked pasta.
~Then add in salt, oyster sauce, soy sauce and taste.
~Finally blend in the scallion and egg.
~It's ready to serve.

I like this dish very much. I always prepared it as my lunch box during studying. The idea actually came from my mum. She used to fry it with macaroni and it tastes nice! It also taste good with spaghetti.

Modified "Swiss Pork Chop"

I learned the dish from a Singaporean TV Program. But i have modified it a little for easy preparation. It should actually called "Ham Chop" instead of "Pork Chop" after my modification. Below is my modified recipe!

Ingredients:-
~Ham slices
~Cheese slices
~Flour
~Egg (beaten)
~Breadcrumbs

Steps:-
~Place a slice of cheese between 2 slices of ham.
~Coat it with flour and dip in the egg, then coat with breadcrumbs.
~Deep fry each side with shallow oil until the skin become golden.

The original recipe is more complicated. It uses a pork slice with ham slice, the cheese slice is place between them. The pork slice has to be marinated with seasoning for at least 10 mins during preparation. Besides, it takes longer time to fry until the pork is cooked and have to be careful of the oil temperature so that the skin wont burn before it's cooked.
Anyway, both method is nice. My hubby loves it a lot.

080808 Olympic is in China!!!

After watching and reading months of Olympic related news, programs, commercials, advertisements, finally, its going to have the Opening Ceremony tonite.

Personally, i am not fancy with sports, therefore, i don't really followed the news a lot and i don't remember i ever watched any Olympic's opening before through TV. But, this year, i am at China-the country where Olympic will be held, i am very much influenced by those TV programs especially TV commercials. Advertisers have cleverly relate their products, no matter what it is or whether they are the official sponsors, to Olympic by sports, year 2008 and Beijing. That's keep reminding me of it.

I am looking forwards to the "Opening" and because of its secrecy, until now, people are not sure what will be on the Opening Ceremony. As a Malaysian Chinese, i wish it is held with consummation. Cheers Beijing! Cheers China!

My favorite song of Olympic Beijing "Beijing Welcome You".

The Official Mascots of Beijing Olympic 2008

The other day, a friend told me that there is a rumour. People said this is an eventful year for China especially many disasters had happened because of the Olympic Mascots-Fuwa. They have relates the disasters to each of the mascot.

Beibei, the fish is related to the serious flood happened in Guangdong Province. Although the flood happen every year, but they said this year is the most serious. Even my friend's hometown in Guangdong Province where never flooded before also affected this year.

Jingjing, the panda is being related to the serious earthquake during May in Sichuan Province because it is the hometown of pandas. It has caused a great tragedy.

Yingying, the Tibetan antelope is the Tibetan Rebellion on March.

Nini, the swallow has brought the heavy snow during spring and causing lots of people being trapped on the way back to hometown for Chinese New Year.

Lastly, because there is no other huge event, they funnily relates Huanhuan, the Olympic Flame which is the fire to a train crashed in Xi'an, because train is called "fire car-huo che" in Chinese.

Referring to all the four above, it seems quite "logic" and sound ridiculous to the last one. Therefore, some of the people is worrying something big related to "fire" will happened later.

To me, i am thinking why not relates it in a good way. Since Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, it could means the moment the "flame" being light up in the Opening Ceremony tonite, its the beginning of good times for China! And wherever it shines, its the wishful blessing of Chinese people to the world!

Mixed all ingredients in mixing bowl until blended.
Put the mixture aside for a while, meantime boiled water in the steamer.
Steamed the cake for 20 mins or until a tester inserted in the center of the cake can come out clean (depending on the steamer, i have spend 30min for steaming).

buying books online...

Recently found a local website where i could buy books, Amazon China....but i wonder it's the same company as Amazon.com. Anyhow, some of the books really cheap and it states all of the books are the original copy.

I have bought 2 books of my favourite writer. The price are really cheap, cheaper than those "pirated" copy sold in Malaysia. It seems to be an original copy from the publisher, although the paper quality not that good. But i think because of that, they could sell at a cheaper price. Better to buy an original than a pirated!

On the other hand, i bought the books during it's promotion period, therefore, there is no delivery charges! And the delivery is really fast. Plus, the service of paying upon delivered!

I told hubby i can start being a bookworm again....hahaha....no need to wait till he has time accompany me to bookstore. Opps...will i become the so call "house girl"?

Ikea SZ

We went to Ikea Store SZ on Sunday. This is the 2nd times we went since it's opening on April. Really feels great to shop there. Everything seems so familiar from the moment we steps into the store, the design, the decoration, the service, the whole atmosphere, just like Ikea Malaysia.

However, Ikea SZ is much much more crowded. There is lots of people everywhere, the restaurant, showrooms, toilets. We have to be very careful with the trolley so that we won't crashed into people. Especially at the dishware division, keep hearing glass broken noise.

Me and hubby had a nice Swedish meal at the restaurant. (Foods again! no wonder our weight couldn't reduce.....hahahhaha.....)

Overall, it's nice to have Ikea Store here at SZ. Because both me and hubby just love to shop at household store, although most items we don't really needs here.
