The Official Mascots of Beijing Olympic 2008

The other day, a friend told me that there is a rumour. People said this is an eventful year for China especially many disasters had happened because of the Olympic Mascots-Fuwa. They have relates the disasters to each of the mascot.

Beibei, the fish is related to the serious flood happened in Guangdong Province. Although the flood happen every year, but they said this year is the most serious. Even my friend's hometown in Guangdong Province where never flooded before also affected this year.

Jingjing, the panda is being related to the serious earthquake during May in Sichuan Province because it is the hometown of pandas. It has caused a great tragedy.

Yingying, the Tibetan antelope is the Tibetan Rebellion on March.

Nini, the swallow has brought the heavy snow during spring and causing lots of people being trapped on the way back to hometown for Chinese New Year.

Lastly, because there is no other huge event, they funnily relates Huanhuan, the Olympic Flame which is the fire to a train crashed in Xi'an, because train is called "fire car-huo che" in Chinese.

Referring to all the four above, it seems quite "logic" and sound ridiculous to the last one. Therefore, some of the people is worrying something big related to "fire" will happened later.

To me, i am thinking why not relates it in a good way. Since Huanhuan is the Olympic Flame, it could means the moment the "flame" being light up in the Opening Ceremony tonite, its the beginning of good times for China! And wherever it shines, its the wishful blessing of Chinese people to the world!
