Me and hubby had our dinner in a Taiwanese eatery - "Dong Zhu Yi" near our neighbourhood the night before we went back to Malaysia for CNY holiday.
To our surprise there wasn't any other customer, only two of us occupying the whole place during the meal. According to the owner (Taiwanese), many of his regular customers had went back Taiwan for CNY holiday and due to the bad economy, most of them are having long holiday. (Sigh...when will the economy get well???)
Let's see what we had for our dinner....
Taiwanese style (with ketchup and mayo) "fried oyster".
Hubby said it tastes better than China's but he loves Malaysian style most.
Fried chicken chop.
My order: Sweet and sour ribs with 7 other side dishes (complementary)
Tastes very nice.
Hubby's order: Fried fish (forget what fish ;p)
come with complementary side dishes as well
Lastly, the famous Taiwanese drink : bubble milk tea with "pearl"
The dinner was not bad, especially the sweet and sour ribs. Me and hubby actually prefer Taiwanese cuisine than local Chinese cuisine. Because we found that their taste is more similar to Malaysian Chinese food. Although some local eateries also offer some Malaysian
cuisine, eg: Char Kuoy Tiow but it just tastes differently. It appears that only the name is label with "Malaysian.....".
