CDT (cash deposit machine)....convenient?? efficient??

Yesterday afternoon, i company mum go to MayBank to bank in some money. That was the 2nd time she went. She has gone there that morning, but all the machine was out of service.

Thinking that deposit via CDT should be quite fast, i waited her in the car. End up i waited her for more than 1/2 hour in the car!!! After she was done, she told me the queue is really long and only 2 out of 3 machines are working.

Come on....machines out of service on a banking day???
Some more in the afternoon???
How about during public holiday or weekend then???
None of them can be used???

I thought CDT is created for public convenience and for efficiency. People could deposit anytime 24 x 7 when needed without spending time queing at the bank counter. However, what my mum go through at MayBank doesn't seem convenient and efficient at all.

I remember spending the same period of time opening a new account at Public bank (including waiting time). That's efficient!!

I would say the machines are an added convenience. I really hate taking a number and wait for it to be called to the counter.

You just gotta know when to avoid using the machines i.e end/beginning of the month when salary is out!!
